What to Expect at Your First Visit to Sonréir

Rebecca's Qualifications
Rebecca Choimes holds a Bachelor of Oral Health and is registered with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist. Oral Health Therapists complete university training in preventive oral health care and work within a defined scope of practice.

What Your First Visit Covers
Your first visit includes an assessment of your suitability for whitening and your whitening treatment on the same day — you'll leave having been whitened, not just with a plan for a future visit. If there's visible surface staining or calculus, Rebecca may also recommend a scale and clean as a complementary service. This is available at an additional cost and, since we recommend spacing a clean and whitening about a week apart, is generally booked as a separate appointment rather than combined with your first visit.

What's Included in Sonréir's Service Offering
Rebecca's training and registration as an Oral Health Therapist cover a broader scope of practice than what's currently offered at Sonréir, including periodontal assessment and taking radiographs. Sonréir's service offering is intentionally focused on whitening and preventive scale and cleans. A comprehensive dental examination, periodontal treatment and diagnostic imaging aren't part of what's provided here, and remain with your dentist.

Working Alongside Your Dentist
If anything comes up during your visit that falls outside Sonréir's current service offering, Rebecca will let you know so you can follow up with your dentist. Many clients see Rebecca for whitening and preventive cleans alongside their regular dentist.
